They held hands and prayed together, surrounded by balloons, candles and handmade signs marking the site where Westbrooks was shot and killed on a Tuesday afternoon in Noble Square. • Archery

Archery is a fun sport that is great for easing the mind and invoking mental awareness. The best set for pure luxury is the Genesis bow and arrows. The only downside to these are that they are extremely expensive. A nice alternative is the Enxi Takedown Hunting Recurve Bow and Arrow - 51". It only costs $99.99 and has a quiver, arrow hold, arm and finger protectors, bow sight, arrows, and is compatible with righties and lefties. In comparison to Genesis bows that cost over $200 and only have a pack of arrows with nothing else, the Enxi Takedown bow is the better buy. If you are gifted at archery, hunting is a legal thing, and when doing it as a hobby, one can also make some money out of it. Archery comes from the Latin word "arcus" meaning bow. In earlier times, archery was used for hunting and combat, while nowadays it is a competitive sport and recreational activity. The earliest origins of archery dates back to the late paleolithic, around 10,000 BC. In China, archery dates back to the Shang Dynasty (1766-1027 BC). Archery is a sport rooted in accuracy which makes it a fun and easy way to improve hand-eye coordination skills, upper body strength, core stability, and balance! Archery overall is a great and amusing sport but an important caution is that you do not shoot your target!

  • Record Breaking Row

Record breaking rower Victoria Evans recently set a new world record for fastest female solo to row across the Atlantic Oceanic. Evans, a 35 year old British Lawyer who has done other great feats including climbing Mont Blanc, described the journey as harder in conditions rather than physical ability. She experienced extreme winds and waves during this nearly 41 day trip, and even had been stuck outside of her cabin at one point and had to use a knife to saw through the lock. In her words, “It’s a very unique sport in that you can't get off when you're there and you have to deal with it. So it was so, so intense.” Stay tuned for more sports news!

  • The Spartan Scytale

This is our first entry of the Secret Journal; it will be showing how to create a simple way to pass on secret information. This cipher is called Spartan Scytale, it doesn’t historically have anything to do with Ancient Greece but it is useful and simple. How to use the Spartan Scytale 1. Find two identical pencils and cut out thin strips of paper, wide enough to fit a letter. You might need help from an adult. 2. Then, tape one end of the paper close to the eraser and wind the piece of paper around the pencil, like shown in the picture. 3. Now you can write your message, crossing the breaks in the strip, and always on one side of the pencil as shown. 4. Remove the message from the pencil. 5. Give a fellow agent the identical pencil and the strip of paper where the message is on. The message will look like nonsense to anyone who doesn't know the code. 6. The agent can now tape the strip of paper close to the eraser, wind it around the pencil and read the message! More will be coming from the Secret Journal, and stay tuned for more!
