- It's the Year 2050
It's the year 2050, and my name is Erin Bag - #13506. I am a biological engineer, and I was one of the founders of the AI robot. The numbers at the end of my name indicate that I am being tagged by the government, because in this year, making AI robots is considered a crime against the government. Why? Because we created AI robots to be smarter than they should have been. The average AI robot has an IQ double that of Albert Einstein! Scientists and engineers were very excited about this. The government felt threatened by this new species that was smarter than them, so they put tags on the people who created this species, and as for the species itself? They’re as good as outlaws here in the United States of America. Another thing I should mention is that we created not just one robot, but over 5,000 AI robots before the government shut us down. The lab where we made these robots is where I am heading now. I’m driving in my electric hover car toward a big, glass building just up ahead. Below me, I see civilians walking around central park, walking their dogs, or teaching their designer babies to walk. I park my car down on the ground, and I exit my car, and then, from my Holo–phone, I tell it to go home, and pick me up at 6 pm on the dot. It zooms out of the parking lot, in the direction of home. I walk into the big glass building, and breathe in the scents of fresh water, metal, and the greenhouse, which is on the left. I take in the scenery too. In front of me is a huge fountain that in addition to being a beautiful sight, creates hydroelectric power, which helps power the lab in a more eco-friendly way. I walk up to the double doors that lead to the lab, and press my finger against the small pad outside. This pad reads over my fingerprint, then predicts what illness I will get in the next 15 years. I have to do it every day, in case something changes. A moment later, a small piece of paper slips out of the bottom of the pad. I skim over it. Nothing new, I think. I walk into the lab, and get ready for work.

- OH NO! Water Shortages!
Have you ever heard of people running out of water? Well, that is called Water shortage. Real water shortage isn't just happening to a few people; 2 billion is a closer number. This report is about water shortage in detail. Clean freshwater is an essential ingredient for a healthy human life, but 1.1 billion people lack access to water and 2.7 billion (30%) experience water scarcity at least one month a year. By 2025, two-thirds of the world's population may be facing water shortages. Libya currently has the greatest water shortage. Libya has a water shortage AND political problems. Even though Libya has the greatest water shortage, Cape Town is going to run out of water first. It will be the first city to completely go dry. Cape Town has 4 million residents and going dry will definitely harm the world economy. By the way, while some cities and countries are running out of water, some are being flooded! One example is Henan, China. Henan Province was flooded in July of 2021. The water trapped commuters in subway tunnels in the city of Zhengzhou, and in the subways, people climbed onto chairs to keep their heads above the water. 12 people still died. Zhengzhou received a year’s rainfall in just three days. That same month, raging waters in Germany’s Ahr Valley scoured farmland into canyons and submerged riverside towns. Herders in northern Kenya today are lamenting the decimation of their livestock as seasonal rains failed yet again to nourish the ochre earth. A Kenyan farmer after a flood In February, the Texas freeze , which extended into Louisiana and Mississippi, caused pipes to burst and left millions without water for several days. The water system in Jackson, the capital of Mississippi, was so deeply damaged from the event that it had a boil-water advisory in place for a month. Academics refer to incidents like these as “compounding” disasters – when, for example, a power outage cripples a wastewater plant that then floods rivers and streets with untreated sewage. Or when heavy rains wash sediment and debris from a fire scorched hillside into a reservoir, clogging a utility’s drinking water intake. It isn't as easy as you think to get water. You have to drink fresh water for it to be safe, AND it has to be filtered. Six countries alone hold half of the world's fresh water. People in Libya are forced to drink whatever they can find. Many people drink from mud puddles because that is what is available. Now. Think for a moment and reflect. Are you grateful for water, or do you just drink half a cup and throw the rest away? Try to think about all of the Libyans out there who would love to have just a small sip of clean water that you drink every day! What can you do to change this disaster? For one, you can donate money to places with water shortages, you can donate water to! You can help stop polluting the oceans so the ocean water is safe to drink, and there are many other things you can do! You can dream big like Greta Thunberg, or you can just do small things. If your toilet has flush options with water conserving options, then use it! If not, then I’m sure you will find your own way to conserve water! Every small act helps! This concludes my small report on Water Shortage in the World. SOURCES World Economic forum, In 2021, the water crisis took center stage. Here's how we can adapt. - Sunday Music Update - April 17th, 2022
Hey everyone, this is Jovin, and I’m here with this week’s music update! First I’m going to run through the newest arrival on the Billboard, which is As it Was, by Harry Styles. This song was released 18 days ago, on the last day of March. At that time, it appeared on the Spotify charts, but only now has it hit the Billboard at the #1 position. It pushed We Don’t Talk About Bruno off of the top ten, the first time this has happened since its release. That’s it for the Billboard this week. Next, there are some new releases I want to talk about, starting with Familia, a twelve song album done fabulously by Camila Cabello. In the past, Cabello has inspired her songs with her Cuban-Mexican background, but in this album, she really lets all of it out, with two songs sung entirely in Spanish, something Cabello has never done before. Familia also contains vocals from her actual familia, with her father and her cousin (who is also featured on the cover). This album also includes two singles, Don’t Go Yet and Bam Bam (feat. Ed Sheeran). So far, the most popular new song in the album is psychofreak (feat. WILLOW), which is charged with lyrics about not exactly fitting in. The other two releases are First Class, by Jack Harlow, which has brought him up to #1 on the Spotify charts, and That’s Hilarious, by Charlie Puth. Some more new releases are: Versions of Me, by Anitta, including her hit Envolver, Crazy What Love Can Do, by David Guetta, Becky Hill, and Ella Henderson, Neck & Wrist, by Pusha T, JAY-Z, and Pharrell Williams, and All 4 Nothing (I’m So In Love), by Lauv. This was your weekly music update for April 17th, and I’ll be back next week. (Music is still Magic!) Jovin
